  1. Commitment
    bullet

    minimum of one year – would prefer that Sacristans commit to three years.

  2. Time
    bullet

    approximately 1½ to 2 hours per Sunday scheduled.  Sacristan should arrive 30 minutes prior to Mass to setup bread and wine for a Sunday Mass.

    bullet

    For special masses (Advent, Christmas,  Lent, Palm Sunday, Easter Sunday,
    First Eucharist, Confirmations) Sacristan should arrive 45 minutes to 1 hour
    before the scheduled mass.

  3. Reasoning for arriving early for your mass is as follows:
    bullet

    any special instructions to be given to servers;

    bullet

    any special instructions to be given to EM’s, greeters;

    bullet

    sign-in Deacons and notify them, upon their arrival, of their places for
    distribution of Communion;

    bullet

    Oversee special items in special masses (such as Baptisms during a mass)
    where Fr. Ray has given specific instructions.

    bullet

    Sacristan on duty must also see that all holy vessels are purified (cleansed
    properly) and put away in specific areas in the Working Sacristy, that the
    Sacrarium is cleaned thoroughly after the mass, and all towels and purificators
    are placed in the plastic box for cleaning.  Put out clean towels for next mass.

  4. Requirements –
    bullet

    Sacristan  -- must be at least 18 years old and an Eucharistic Minister.

    bullet

    We stand in occasionally as emergency EM’s, as well as do a regular turn on
    the EM Schedule

  5. Schedule -
