Purpose: Each week, two to three members of the ministry bring the Eucharist to Carrier patients in order to offer an additional component to their treatment modality, bringing compassionate help through the word of the Lord to support healing for patients. Our ministers hold a Communion Service in the Carrier Clinic Chapel and bring the Eucharist to six inpatient wards.

Time Commitment: After a training period, the commitment is usually once every other month for a full Sunday morning at Carrier Clinic, following the 7:15 AM Mass. The team also meets twice a year for a breakfast social to share ministry experiences and review practice.

Qualifications: Compassionate and empathetic towards the sick, especially those suffering from addictions or mental illness; active Catholics in good standing; able to walk considerable distance between chapel and wards.

Virtus Training & Background Check Requirement: Carrier Clinic requires all volunteers to undergo an orientation process which also involves a background check
